In Provence, the poppy is considered the flower of angels, since it is used to decorate churches on the day of the Descent of the Holy Spirit and small children strew poppy flowers on the road before the procession.
A Buddhist legend says that one day Buddha fell asleep, and poppies grew in the places where his eyelashes touched the ground. Therefore, in China, poppies mean rest, relaxation and tranquility.
The blue Himalayan poppy, growing in the mountains at an altitude of 3,000 meters, is a symbol of the Kingdom of Bhutan.
Such diverse legends and myths accompany this beautiful, bright flower.
A field or steppe with blooming poppies makes an indelible impression.
I depicted a fragment of such a field in this picture.
A huge, blue sky and bright, fire-colored poppies...
Oil pastel on paper. For hanging on the wall, I recommend a frame with a mat (the internal size of the mat is no more than 19.7*27 cm).
In my studio, the work hangs framed in a mat (19.7*27 cm) and a wooden frame (34*44 cm). See the photo in the gallery.
The price includes: the work itself (20.7*28 cm, without frame) on 400 g/m2 paper.
If you want to get the work in a frame, as it hangs in my studio, then the cost of the work will increase by $20.

Lana Vereshchagina is an abstract artist from Russia. She is not a professional artist.
She has always been drawing since childhood. She painted with everything that was at hand and on every-thing that came across.
Lana graduated from the children's art school. Then she studied herself - tried, trained, experimented.
Her work has always been associated with creativity - the creation of clothing and interior design. I drew clothing models, home textiles, interiors and individual elements of their design, fabrics and furniture.
In her free time, Lana continued to draw for herself, for the soul. She tried herself in various techniques and styles.
Forced isolation due to COVID-19 helped (it helped) her to take creativity more seriously. “Why be sad and suffer without communication? In any situation, you need to look for the positive! I can do what I wanted to do for a long time, but there was not enough time.” she said to herself. Lana took paints and began to trans-fer her emotions, impressions, sensations to the canvas. Lana began to study new techniques, materials, combine them.
“Inspiration comes to me from completely different moments. It can be just a good mood from a sunny day, a photo from a personal archive, an impression from a book read, and just imagination.” - says the artist her-self.
“I like to experiment with materials, techniques and tools. The result is always unexpected and interesting. It's exciting and every time a pleasant surprise. My works are a reflection of the inner world, my conversa-tion with the viewer, an attempt to share good emotions.”
