This still life praises the generosity of nature, which bestows human with its fruits. The artist is inspired by the tranquility of similar paintings by Flemish masters of the 17th century. A lot of time has passed since then. And there is a difference between this still life and similar works of the past. Instead of European birds, a parrot flaunts in front of us. The distant background behind the objects is abstractly geometric, referring the viewer to the creative searches of the formalists of the 20th century. The incredible spreading of branches and the bizarre shape of the lid of the vessel are a tribute to the experiments of the surrealists, modifying the familiar world around us. If you look closely, you will notice the presence of two tiny snails. One of them is crawling up the bindweed stem, the other is looking at first from above, having gotten there earlier. This is a minor addition of symbolism.
