Landscape of Auvergne, France.
The sky occupies a large part of the composition, spreading its shades of azure, gray, and pink through a veil of clouds. These clouds, in a diffuse formation, glide gently, imparting a subtle dynamism to the serene sky.
On the horizon, the mountains undulate, tracing a series of soft, almost caressing curves that evoke the rugged yet tranquil geography of the Auvergne. We perceive wooded hills, almost merging into a bluish mist, creating a measured depth of field where each peak emerges like an ephemeral thought.
In this painting, I sought to capture a moment, an atmosphere, a feeling. It is an invitation to immerse oneself in the geological time of these mountains, to feel the weight of the ages and the majesty of a time frozen in its transience.
Materials:
This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
The white finish on the sides of the canvas allows for hanging without a frame if you wish.
