Landscape of Auvergne, France.
On the Mézenc massif, the immense and widely open sky offers a sense of freedom, but also of transcendence, a height that our gaze is invited to explore.
Then, the gaze descends towards the verdant mountains. The light shadow cast by the clouds gives relief to this vast expanse. The meadows and farms scattered here and there bear witness to ancient human activity, discreet but present.
The mountains serve as a stable horizon line, an anchor point for the eyes. They are both a barrier and a bridge to the unknown, inviting us to take the winding paths to discover the other side.
The whole scene unfolds as an invitation to contemplation, but also to the wandering of the gaze and the mind. Each detail holds a narrative or poetic potential, each element of the landscape seems to whisper a story or a feeling.
Materials:
This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
The white finish on the sides of the canvas allows for hanging without a frame if you wish.
