Landscape of Auvergne, France. View from my studio.
In this work, I sought to capture the serene beauty of a moonrise over the Auvergne mountains in autumn, that fleeting moment when the moonlight begins to pierce through the clouds, creating a striking contrast with the dark and mysterious hues of twilight.
The clouds are painted with broad brushstrokes, giving an impression of movement and lightness, as if they were in perpetual transformation under the influence of the moonlight.
The moon, the focal point of the composition, emits a soft light, in contrast with the shadows of the surrounding clouds. This light creates a peaceful, almost dreamlike atmosphere, where the viewer can immerse themselves in the tranquil beauty of a moment when nature is preparing to yield to the night. It is a celebration of the harmony between light and darkness, a tribute to the discreet but monumental splendor of the Auvergne landscapes.
This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
The white finish of the sides of the canvas allows, if you wish, a hanging without a frame.
