Landscape of Auvergne, France.
The Massif du Mézenc, located in Auvergne, is a stunning mountainous landscape. It is dominated by Mont Mézenc, which stands at an altitude of 1753 meters, thus offering an exceptional panorama of the surrounding area. This volcanic massif is characterized by its conical peaks, glacial valleys, and basaltic plateaus.
The sky occupies the majority of my composition, creating a sense of immensity. Below this sea of clouds, the peaks gently blend into the horizon and a dense forest of conifers, with touches of dark green, contrasts with the light blue of the sky.
The light filtering through the clouds softly illuminates the landscape below, creating a feeling of tranquility and serenity.
This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
The white finish of the sides of the canvas allows, if you wish, a hanging without a frame.
