Landscape of Auvergne, France. View from my studio.
The composition is dominated by a vast expanse of sky, where ample and vaporous clouds stretch and blend. These clouds, treated with a subtle palette of bluish grays and pearly whites, create a sensation of lightness and movement.
The earth below is a tapestry of fields in ochre and green tones, indicating the seasons and agricultural cycles that one can easily imagine. The distant hills and mountains delicately merge with the sky, using attenuated shades of green and brown that suggest distance.
I try to apply each brushstroke with a keen awareness of the rendering of light and texture. The play of light evokes a golden hour of twilight, conferring a almost lyrical quality to the landscape.
This representation of the Auvergne mountains encapsulates not only the natural beauty of the region but also a poetic introspection on the passage of time and the fleeting splendor of the natural world.
The white finish on the sides of the canvas means that it can be hung without a frame if you wish.
