Landscape of France, Brittany.
I have attempted to capture the tranquility and vastness of a deserted beach, with its rolling dunes rising nearby. The lower part of the painting is dominated by fine sand; its streaks and texture suggest the presence of wind, an invisible yet almost tangible element. Large voluminous clouds, with defined edges and a fluffy texture, float in a brightly blue, almost unreal sky. The complex interplay of shadows and light within each cloud celebrates the space and depth; one could almost feel the slow movement of these formations in the atmosphere. The work, capturing a unique moment, invites us to contemplate the ordinary beauty of the landscape and suggests reflection on our intimate connection with nature.
This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
The white finish of the sides of the canvas allows, if you wish, a hanging without a frame.
