The artwork belongs to the series "Cats and Greece: in reality and dreams". A glimpse of a beautiful day in Greece through the eyes of a cat.
The silhouette of a seated cat transforms into a playful portal leading to the captivating scenery of the renowned Greek island of Santorini. Enclosed within the feline contour is a charming scene rendered in oil: the traditional white buildings, a quaint windmill, lively flowers, and the azure sea set against a tranquil blue sky. The cat's form acts as a framing device, encouraging exploration of the delightful scene it encapsulates. In contrast, I've employed structure paste and acrylic paint outside the cat's silhouette, introducing texture and depth that infuse a dynamic quality into the surrounding elements.
The media I use as an artist vary from acrylics to oils, from smooth to rough textures - but the message is always the same: sticking with the timeless is the ultimate recipe for happiness. Celebrate the here and now, be fully present in the moment. This is a very simple yet powerful philosophy that I am trying to transmit through my works.
