"Don't Fly Too Close to the Sun" - this is my interpretation of the Greek myth of Icarus, which found its embodiment on an abstract canvas. The painting, sized 90x50 cm, is enveloped in an atmosphere of a fairy-tale tragedy, where the blue color symbolizes the sky and the sea, and at the center of the canvas, the engraving of wings boldly ascending towards the sun stands out.
The moment when Icarus flies towards the sun inspired me to create this artwork. In the center of the canvas, his wings are positioned, framed by a vibrant blue background representing the sky and water. In this composition, I aimed to convey the tension, ambition, and the inevitable collision with the soaring sun.
For a collector, "Don't Fly Too Close to the Sun" will become a significant piece, where myth and abstraction merge. This painting has the capacity to inspire reflections on the boundaries of ambitions, the cost of which can be loss and destruction.
An art expert sees in this work an intriguing embodiment of the classical myth through abstract forms. The composition and color palette enrich the artwork with profound meaning, enabling the viewer to experience the internal conflict of Icarus. This painting deserves attention as an example of the synthesis of mythology and contemporary art.
