    Description

utopia series. Paintings expressing a world of ephemeral light shimmering in the darkness. Another world of shadows created from shining white sculptures. The same shape can be imagined just by reversing the black and white. Whether it is a star or a month, a new moon or a full moon, a window frame or a building... the viewer's background changes the way it looks, and this ambiguity is also appealing. It is a gray zone that is neither black nor white. In a sense, it is a utopia. That is why I named it Utopia. When I paint, I like to use a lot of coincidental expressions, as if I am randomly combining elements of various concepts and playing with them while composing them on the screen. It is an outpouring of something with a primitive and childish physicality before it is verbalized by reason. As one or two of these small, disparate paintings are stacked one on top of the other, they begin to flow together like a story. The production of paintings, which differ in form from the usual three-dimensional works, has just begun. I cannot wait to see what direction these small paintings will take and what kind of world they will depict in the future. Just as three-dimensional elements have been transferred to the plane, all that has been cultivated on the plane will one day be brought into three-dimensional modeling. Just as with three-dimensional modeling, another institution has emerged in which the work itself begins to circulate naturally. Collagraph Collagraph is a collagraph that uses various materials as plates, such as brass parts of old watches and pieces of wood. The collagraph is a one-of-a-kind work that cannot be reproduced or duplicated in the same way as a print because it is a technique that takes advantage of the coincidence of the combination of multiple plates. • About this artist

    Concept

Artist / atelier & cafe mu. Self-taught, she creates sculptures and paintings that evoke stories and music, based on the themes of light, tranquility, and healing. I run a studio and gallery "atelier & cafe mu. The most important thing for me in creating my works is to let people who are wandering in the darkness, like myself in the past, feel a gentle light and have hope. I aim to bring memories of the past and forgotten stories back to life, and through their beauty and stories, to deeply move the viewer's heart and remind them of the joy of living. Through my works, I hope that viewers will feel a new light where the past and present intersect, and experience the nostalgia and serenity within their hearts, as well as the excitement of discovering new creativity. The concept of my creative activities is to "find new light at the intersection of the past and the future, nature and civilization, humans and AI technology. I aim to breathe new life into old things by reinterpreting and shedding new light on the serene beauty of ruins surrounded by nature, natural objects, broken things, junk, and materials that have fallen into disuse, from a modern perspective. The Intersection of Human and AI Technology I am also interested in the development of AI technology in recent years, and am exploring "human creativity. My creative concept is to find "new light" at the intersection of the past and the future, nature and civilization, humans and AI technology. My main technique is mixed media. What I value most in my work is the exploration of the creativity inherent in human beings. While refining my handcrafting techniques, I experiment with various materials such as natural objects, broken old clocks, and delicate paper, in pursuit of unique beauty. At the same time, we believe it is important to deepen our understanding of AI technology in order to explore the creativity inherent in human beings today. As a self-taught artist who has created a mixture of pure and muddy art works, not limited to materials, I believe that it is not being bound by stereotypes, but trusting one's own sensibilities and taking a free approach based on one's own sense of values, where the new and old are mixed together, that gives my works their unique appeal.
