“The Sea” is a pairing to the painting “Lagoon”. The reflected surface of the sky and the calm sea painted in thick paint strokes was my creative experiment. I very rarely use such materials in my works, but these artworks became a kind of meditation for me, both in the process of creation and in further contemplation. There are no superfluous details, the light is reflected in the mirrored surface in a completely different way under different lights. That is why you can always follow the changes in this painting and see the reflection of your own silhouette there.
I painted these pictures in order to not lose the feeling of relaxation and tranquility, to remember the feelings after a long bath in the sea, when the body relaxes and fills with health, and thoughts disperse and worries go away. This is a moment I want to savor because I was usually only able to take a brief holiday, after which I had to go back to work in a noisy, bustling city. I am sure that this is how the majority of people live, thus by purchasing this painting, you can keep a visual manifestation of that feeling, free of anxiety and bustle.
