This painting was inspired by a photo from the train made by my friend while traveling from Vienna to Graz in Austria. That year, she and I completed our first collaborative museum project in Graz, but I was unable to visit because of the many restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic.
At that time, there was a lengthy grayness in Moscow and I had almost no motives for inspiration. So, I decided to mentally move myself closer to the Austrian Alps, recalling the ambiance of the mountain landscape and the variety of natural colors.
While I was painting this picture, I realized that I wished to relocate to a place where it was warm and sunny. I later achieved this dream. As a result, this painting is of a specific symbolic importance to me in terms of the idea and its fulfillment. When I look at it, I have a feeling of fresh mountain air, which can even make me dizzy, after the usual city life.
This painting was also painted in one breath in a couple of sessions with a strong desire to create exactly that way and that motif.
