One warm sunny June morning, leaving the house and going down the stairs, I had the carelessness to fall and break my ankle. At this moment I was thinking that I was going to draw Serinus canaria - these cute yellow birds.
I couldn’t stop myself when I was drawing, torn by severe pain. Despite the pain in my leg, my brain enjoyed the silence of the moment and the complete immersion in drawing. What happened became the real Quintessence of the moment, because it is the great creative power that God has endowed with the material world. This is the purest essence, a concentrated extract of the universe. I thank God for this experience.
