Concept
The works of Ukrainian artist Les Panchyshyn are very impressive, especially
the energy. His paintings are full of vitality, freedom, youth, love to the world,
emotions, and fantastic illusions. These works are eloquent, expressive,
and reflect the dynamics of the surrounding world. ln his works, the artist
refers to the social and philosophical problems of the present, where the key
categories are humans and nature. What is most particularly noticeable is the
artist's passion towards an anthropomorphic theme. Не tries to comprehend
а sense of human existence, the transformations of his emotions, personal
development, and his place in the world. ln his landscape works, we сап feel
а frantic admiration for nature, alongside raging emotions and the artist's
impressions of а natural phenomenon, which he embodies in bright colors оп
the canvas. ln such compositions, the artist includes dynamics, rhythm, and
movement into the foreground. They differ with fantastic expression, which has
been achieved through the color palette. The color has а special place in Les
Panchyshyn's paintings. The active colors are maintained in а very specific
color spectrum, making his artwork modern and glamorous. The artist is not
scared to use extremely bright shades of red and blue, which are dominant in
his works. The composition is often built on sharp contrasts, which conveys
the artist's style. However, such saturated colors may not always correspond
to the highest artistic and aesthetic tastes and may seem provocative. The
rhythmic composition, expressive lines, and accents, and active play with colors
in the artworks of Les Panchyshyn emphasize а very interesting potential of this
young artist. Nowadays he is very active in Ukrainian Art life, and his artworks
look quite promising, allowing him to slowly take his place in the international
market. ln line with current trends in art and design, such works are relevant
and very in-demand. They can effectively fill public, residential and exhibition
spaces, as well as be significantly interesting for gallery owners, art managers,
curators, critics and lovers of contemporary art..

Les Panchyshyn approaches paintings with spontaneity and audacity. In his
images he pays attention to the introspective recognition that human beings
performs of themselves and the surrounding world. This existential practice
is what constitutes us as individuals, where we concretize а set of thoughts,
feelings and memories produced in collective experi-ences and returned to the
tangible world. However, in his works, this predetermined cycle of existence
seems to be dissociated due to his intention to question the certainties of
contemporary world, emphasizing the intrinsic value of human condition.
Panchyshyn ignores those certainties and remains only with some figurative
references to emphasize confusions about the meaning of life. In his interior
portraits and landscapes, we can see the rift between the physical and the
spiritual world, which leads us to repeat to ourselves the ecumenical question
about our ontological destiny in the era overwhelmed with information which
transcends our understanding of the past, the present and the future. In his work
there are formal and conceptual ties with German expressionism of the first half
of the 20th century with its intellectual and emotional mechanism that allowed
the artist to make use of their individual freedom, to understand the irrationality
of their social reality and politics through the distorted representation of some
of the episodes in the context. This movement has been syncretized in different
periods of time and latitudes of the planet, as а creative approach to make art а
means of existential connection with the surroundings and its circumstances, to
lay out questions in the obvious moments of decline, where only the sensitivity
of an artist сап enlighten our attention in the respect. This is the process that
Les Panchyshyn has started to uncover.
