The creation of the "Girls" series of paintings was inspired by Ukraine's drug policy.
I often ask myself questions about free access to various substances and approaches to their use.
Why can I order alcohol in any place — a depressant that harms me?
Why can I freely purchase nicotine — a substance more addictive than heroin?
Why are we treated to death with morphine and methadone while cannabis remains illegal?
I ask these questions through my paintings.
I want to cultivate a plant that has long been used by our ancestors.
I want to make medicines, cosmetics, dietary supplements, construction materials, and, of course, pay taxes with it.
But for now, I only can paint it.
This series also has a feminist component.
It reflects diversity because each plant is unique and individual, just like every woman.
The paintings in the series are exceptional, with their own character, form, and style.
I want to convey the idea that despite differences, every woman is important and wonderful.
My goal is to create a dialogue and fundament for social changes.
I believe in the importance of open communication and raising public awareness about cannabis-related restrictions.
This series with an open number of works — I will create them until I can grow instead of paint.
The first drop consists of 7 works.
Thank you for your support, and together, we can change the world!
