I got the idea for this painting when I saw the iridescent clouds from the bus on a hot summer day. The majestic shape of the clouds reminded me of the smallness of our daily life, and I thought, "What if we arranged the clouds like a line of people walking in front of a building? I thought, "What if I positioned the iridescent clouds like a walking formation with the building in the lead? I have been working mainly with acrylic paints, but this is the first time I have painted with oil paints. The building is based on the Kobe Customs Office in Japan, which I have wanted to paint for a long time, and I hope it has a generous feel.
