In the series "Instant Portrait," I explore the delicate boundary between the visible and the felt, striving to capture fleeting states that are difficult to grasp yet impossible to ignore. For me, these works are not just depictions of faces but an attempt to freeze time and preserve the unique emotional trace left by each moment.
A dynamic and expressive brushstroke is a key element in my work. It serves not only as an artistic gesture but also as a way to convey the fragility and density of each moment. Color plays a pivotal role: the interplay of cool blues and warm pinks creates a balance between the external and internal, the physical and the abstract. To me, color is a medium capable of unveiling emotional and visual depth.
The faces in these paintings are free from rigid outlines, seemingly dissolving into space. I do not aim to create traditional portraits. Instead, these are "instant" impressions of states—subtle and complex expressions of human nature. I hope viewers can find reflections of their own emotions, associations, or even memories within these works.
This series is my way of exploring the intangible, capturing the flow of time, and emphasizing the connection between individual and collective experiences. "Instant Portrait" is an invitation to pause, feel, and recognize the beauty in the ephemeral.
