Chrysanthemums are the last autumn flowers, keeping the colors of summer and autumn. They absorbed the warmth of the sun and the scent of the garden. There is a long black and white winter ahead, short days, cold, spring is so far away. Chrysanthemums help to survive the winter. The author's work conveys the feelings that many experience in November. I paint my oil paintings because oil is a more natural material, more alive. The same applies to the canvas. I try to express my emotions through form and color. I like to use a palette knife and a brush. This helps me in this convey the quiet, slightly sad weather outside the window and the expression of the color and scent of chrysanthemums.
This painting took part in the international online competition in Prague in October 2021 and received the Special Recognition diploma. In this series - "The Scent of Сhrysanthemums" - there are several paintings. One of them took 2nd place at the international competition in London in December 2020.
