This painting was inspired by the beautiful lilac! When I lived in Russia, we had a dacha (country house) with a small plot of land where several fluffy lilac bushes grew among vegetables, fruits, berries, and other vegetation! I still remember this springtime, when the buds began to swell, and after a while, the lilac flowers bloomed! And this most delicate, unforgettable fragrance! And also, there was a belief that whoever finds a lilac flower with five petals must eat it immediately while making a wish and it will certainly come true! I'll tell you a secret, I still believe in it!
