Haloze, a region of Slovenia that stretches from the city of Ptuj to the Croatian border. Being a lesser-known part of Slovenia, these are wonderful examples of untouched nature and vibrant cultural heritage.
Small cozy villages, green hillsides, meadows with lush grass and grazing animals - all this makes Haloze a small cozy world for inspiration, contemplation and restoration of spiritual strength.
Haloze Hills is a wonderful place for winemaking with white grape varieties traditional for these places. It is in the top 5% of the world's best vineyard locations due to suitable soil and favorable climate. Grapes are usually planted on the steeper, south-facing slopes to take full advantage of the sun's rays, while the cooler north-facing slopes are covered with trees and pastures.
My painting depicts a real place not far from my house, a neighbor's vineyard, where every autumn we enjoy the atmosphere of the grape harvest festival.
