My interpretation of Johannes Vermeer's artistic masterpiece "Girl with a Pearl Earring".
I did not have a goal to make a copy of this picture, to draw a girl like a medieval beauty.
I wanted to write a more modern image, to dream up how the face of a modern girl with a pearl earring could look now. A little flirtatious, with a twinkle in her eyes, quite a bit of makeup. But just as mysterious as Vermeer's, she has a lively and dynamic pose, as if the girl just turned over her shoulder for a second to look at the painter.
