This large (a human height) painting depicts a naked girl standing in front of a small river, hesitant to enter the water and cross to the other side. Will she make up her mind and follow others (you may notice a footprint of someone who crossed the river before) or will she remain on her side? This artwork is about big decisions in our life, decisions that may change our today and our tomorrow.
I like to work with reflections. A mirror, a water, or any other reflecting surface, all of them create a sort of alternative image adding some distortion, changing colours, etc. Painting of a reflection always has a double effect, first the object is changed by the reflecting surface, second, it is changed by the perception of the artist. For me water is the most interesting filter of an image since it is never or almost never flat and clear. It adds to the image some movement, colour, it changes its form…
