this is a unique medieval defensive masterpiece of the Mediterranean of the 13th century: harbor, shipyards, fortress of Alanya. This masterpiece was built during the reign of the Seljuk Ruler Alaaddin Keykubat I and the builder from Aleppo Ebu Ali Reha el Kettani for defensive purposes from enemies coming from the sea.
Kyzylkule (Red Tower) with its imposing appearance attracted attention both today and in the distant past; it took place in many treatises of that time. From the notes of the 17th century traveler Evliya (Saint) Celebi: "From the sea side in the Alanya Fortress there is a reliable octagonal tower, which at the time of the siege of the fortress can accommodate up to 2000 people, and 40 soldiers can fit in the second observation tower."
Due to the peculiarities of the site on which the tower is built, and it is built on a mainland rock, the western part of the tower is 3 meters shorter than the eastern part, which is 33 meters long. The foundation is built of evenly cut and interconnected quadrangular limestone slabs, classical columns serve as secondary material, and red brick is used in the upper part of the walls.
