Correlation III, 2013, oil, alkyd on cotton and hemp canvas, 248 × 272.4 × 6 cm (97.6 × 107.2 × 2.4 in)
The support and its fabric are separated on the left and right sides of "Yobou III," and it is the first work in which I started combining multiple supports.
The left support is made of black cotton fabric, while the right is made of hemp cloth (canvas lining).
This work was also exhibited in the annual VOCA Exhibition 2014 at the Ueno Royal Museum.
At that time, when the size of the work exceeded a certain size, the support had to be separated.
In my concept, there was no choice but to have separate supports for no reason.
Therefore, I dared to change the fabrics on the left and right sides of the work and draw the relationship between them from the state in which they appear to be separate, and this is the direction in which the work was created, and it was established as one piece.
