The “In the tall grass” painting discovers the relations of humans and nature. Through symbols and images, I empower some of them with certain sense and character, sometimes they intertwine and complement each other. Also a woman is a symbol of humanity, kindness, motherhood, and on the other hand it is the nature itself, which holds a bird in the hand. The bird itself is very sacral sign, it is hope, the soul, pigeon, which brings good news in different religions and mythologies. Contrasting these two images, I find a lot of similar things in them and draw parallels between them. Just as the bird builds its nest and protects its offspring, the mother cares for her children. High grass hides and protects the small nest with three eggs, in its greatness they are a small piece of sand, it is even hard to see and notice it at first. The pallet is quite discreet and pastel, it is based on two opposing colours ocher-golden and blue. Such colours are typically Byzantine and later on they were used in frescoes of the age of Renaissance. Golden – the colour of the divine origin, blue - symbolizes the purity of the sky and limitless of the sky. While applying the paint I use the author’s technique with the addition of the sand to the oil paint, which gives pastosity to the texture and symbolizes the limitless fields and also reminds of frescoes, which were painted on the wet plaster.
