    Description

    It gets dark early in the mountains, and the temperature difference between day and night is quite large. At sunset, when it's still warm, the sky seems a little closer and the stars appear early in the sky. The orange solar color goes out, as if all the warmth of the day goes with it. Like a dying candle. Mountains change their character, seem mystical and mysterious with the coming of darkness.
    Oil on stretched canvas, brush for the background and palette knife.

    Concept

    There is a magnificent view of the mountains on one side and the sea on the other from the window of her studio. Two the great forces of nature meet here, on the shore of the Black Sea. Mountains and the sea are one of Lana's favorite subjects for painting on canvas. Lana also draws portraits, interiors and everyday life objects with pastels. The sketchiness and unevenness of her line is paired with a colour which often helps to reinforce a mood or bring to life the personality of her subjects. She's not afraid of the curvature and irregularity of objects. Rather, it's great. So as not to take life too seriously.
