I have always been inspired by ancient architecture. I feel the spirit of history with all my heart and soul when I get to historical places. Observing these ancient stones, which were touched by the foot of generations that had lived a thousand years before, I immediately feel the continuity and connection of the times.
On the diptych, the Colosseum in Rome and the Roman Forum are depicted ghostly, as if through a haze. I wanted to demonstrate the fragility and inconstancy of buildings that collapse over time and change shape. But despite this, they can pass to the viewer the warmth and light of their stones, which have lain for centuries and have been saturated with the power of numerous generations.
The artworks are painted in warm yellow-ocher colors to convey the ancient buildings bathed in sunlight and warmth coming from them. In contrast, the blue color of the sky appears to give airiness and grandeur to the buildings. The pieces can be placed both together or separately in the interior. They are suitable for home and office space.
