Timanfaya.
There was a fertile land here 300 years ago. And then ... For 6 years in a row, 300 volcanoes erupted. Most of the blooming land in the west of Lanzarote island was covered with lava.
And now it is a desert scorched by the sun, similar to a Martian landscape, with its volcanic tunnels, volcanic bombs and lava seas. There are almost no water sources here. Winds blow all year round.
But it is also a world of unreal colors and textures. And despite the harsh conditions, life goes on here. Timanfaya's special soil gives rise to exotic plants that can only be found here. A few trees fight for existence, make their way through the solidified lava and win death.
