Description

If there was something I had to identify with, it would be water. Blue is and will always be my favorite color. Blue. Blue as the color of water. Sky, water, air, clouds and ice. Homer put it beautifully: the sea, red as wine.

One subject of my work is dedicated to the color blue. Blue as a hymn to the water. Symbol of life, river of life, Panta rhei. The water that carries the ship is the same that swallows it (chinese saying). Our world based on opposites is also reflected in water. The life-giving source is opposed to the life-devouring force of nature. A pair of opposites that must be born of a unity inherent in the world. Converting this into an artistic work is the core of my idea.

For me, the beginning of a new work is a dedication to the moment; the brush then follows suit, with either oil or acrylic.

In my lengthy work process, forms crystallize and are repeatedly reshuffled until the abstract composition is orderly and clear, and glows from within.

I studied architecture in order to create spaces for people. Through painting, spaces open up in which I explore what defines people. My pictures don’t tell stories, but are far more places where a narrative can take place. My emphasis is on the discovery of what it means to be human.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
