I usually use a reality theme when painting a picture. Maybe it's a piece of sun-drenched forest, my child's mood, random scenes from life or exposed vegetables and kitchen utensils.
But every rule has its exceptions. Sometimes stress is caused by strong emotions. And it doesn't help to let go of bad toughts. It turns in good things in to bad thoughts and doesn't give up. Fortunately for the creative person, there is a solution to this problem. Take the canvas, brushes, paints and throw away all the tension on the canvas.
This way was made the painting "Death of Happiness". Somebody very close and dear to me has died. Due to the circumstances, I could not say goodbye to him and see him on his last journey. I ran from corner to corner for a week and I couldn't calm down or get my thoughts together. When my son said: Mom, you are an artist, take the brushes and drop your thoughts and feelings on the canvas.
After I finished my work, I realized that the pain was gone, the emotional tension had subsided, and the sadness and nostalgia for the past remained silent. Yes, that happiness died, but there was hope for a new meaning in life and an understanding that you just had to move on.
I use quality canvas in a relative composition of cotton and synthetics for painting. After complete drying, I glue the canvas to hardboard using a special transparent double-sided adhesive foil. As a last point, repainted with protective varnish.
Oil painting on canvas glued to hardboard size 30x24 cm. Treated with the final varnish. Framed in a wooden frame.
