Hey!
I am an artist.
My name is Irina Kotova (Iryna Kotava, @irartery).
I am 35 years old, I live in Minsk, Belarus, married, have children, higher education, no bad habits. Ahaha))
From the very childhood I wanted to paint and somewhere in my heart I knew that I would become an artist.
Now for me an artist is not the one who knows how to draw, but above all one who cannot but draw.
A couple of years ago, I ended my pretentious office life and took a downshifting leap into the unknown, mysterious, scary and terrible creativity.
What drives me? I just can't help drawing. It is like a stream that at a certain moment carries me and I cannot resist, I just take paper and what comes to hand and make a sketch, and then, obeying the same stream, I take canvas and paints.
I was not looking for my own style either, it is a part of me. This is expressionism, naive.
For me, painting is, first of all, an opportunity to show my feelings and emotions that are prervasive at the moment.
