Description

Still life with cosmos plants "Unity"

Plein air painting in alla prima technique. Nature created beautiful flowers so that we admire and delight them. A combination of the white, pink, burgundy cosmos plants on the blue background evokes a feeling of joy and harmony. For this work, I chose a round canvas to emphasize the unity of these flowers. So different, but so related.

I like to work by combining a palette knife and a brush. This allows you to bring dynamics, unexpected shades, ease of perception into the picture.

Concept

Hi! I’m Olesya.

I am based in St.Petersburg, Russia. I paint nearly everyday – for me painting is a way to process and memorialize my personal experiences.

I paint in oils. My work is influenced by many styles - abstract expressionism, impressionism. I am inspired by the gorgeous nature with its landscapes and animals, a woman's face and mysterious abstractions. But really what inspires me is art itself. When I am standing in front of a painting on easel I motivated by the creative dance of brushstrokes, variety of colors and heavy texture!

I want to delight my audience the same as I am delighted by works of art. It makes me happy to see people enjoying my art.

I enjoy working on smaller panels and canvases although I have painted some very large paintings too. All my paintings are originals.

Does this art work need a frame?

In many cases, art works with a canvas stretched over a wooden frame can be displayed as is. Thin art works other than canvases are easier to frame. For any questions or concerns please chat us.

What kind of hardware should I use for hanging the artwork?

If you are concerned about repayment costs, such as when renting a house, wall pins and hooks that do not leave noticeable hole marks are available at major DIY Store and art supply stores.

If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
