  • About this artist

    Concept

As an artist, I am drawn to the beauty and complexity of the human form. It is the most important element in my work and serves as my primary source of inspiration. I believe that the human body is a powerful and expressive subject that can convey a wide range of emotions and experiences.

While objects and places may have their own unique qualities and characteristics, I find that they often distract from the essence of the human form. Therefore, I choose to minimize their presence in my work and instead focus on the human figure as the main subject.

Through my art, I aim to capture the unique qualities and nuances of the human form, whether it be through realistic depictions or abstract interpretations. I strive to convey a sense of vulnerability, strength, and beauty in my pieces, while also exploring themes of identity, emotion, and connection.

Ultimately, my goal is to create art that resonates with viewers on a deep and personal level. By placing the human form at the center of my work, I hope to evoke a sense of empathy and connection that transcends language, culture, and time.

I believe that the painting itself is just as important as the image it portrays. In my work, I strive to create pieces that not only capture the essence of the subject, but also invite the viewer to engage with the physicality of the painting.

To achieve this, I focus heavily on the materiality of paint. I am fascinated by the texture, color, and movement of paint on canvas, and I use a variety of techniques to create pieces that are rich in texture and depth. Sometimes I use a brush to apply the paint in a controlled manner, while other times I use a spatula or palette knife to create bold, gestural strokes. And in some cases, I allow the paint to dry partially before applying it directly to the canvas, resulting in a textured surface that invites the viewer to touch and feel.

For me, the tactile qualities of paint are just as important as the visual qualities. I want my paintings to be more than just static images; I want them to be living, breathing things that engage the senses and evoke a visceral response in the viewer.

Ultimately, my goal is to create paintings that are both visually and physically compelling, and that invite the viewer to explore and engage with the surface of the canvas. Whether through bold, sweeping brushstrokes or delicate layers of color and texture, I strive to create works that are immersive, expressive, and unforgettable.
