Pictures from the series "Patchwork Animals of the North" were painted by me under the impression of a trip to Kamchatka. I was left with an impression of the great diversity of this region. And I saw it as a mosaic-map, which I wanted to fill with different textures of this place - the colors of the earth, national music and ornaments. I took an ancient rock drawing of a deer, made a kind of geographical map out of it, and filled it with these patchwork fragments. Sometimes the patches turn into stained glass.
In my creative activity, I worked on the creation of a stained-glass window, and in this series I try to convey the effect of luminous glass.
I would like the viewer, looking at the picture, to feel the joy of the early morning, when the sun is just rising and its rays penetrate through the colored glass.
My style is original and unique, I call it stained glass (stained glass or patchwork quilt).
It is included in my series of paintings about Kamchatka. Other works can be seen in my profile.
