The painting "Bear" is painted with oil paints on a 100% linen canvas with a stretcher. It is included in my series of paintings about the Kamchatka Peninsula "Patchwork Animals of the North".
The creation of this series of patchwork animals was inspired by the ancient rock painting Petroglyph of Sikachi-Alyan - a monument of monumental art of world significance. I rethought this image, filling it with color, focusing on the avant-garde art of the 20th century in Russia. I make it look like a stained glass window or a patchwork quilt.
In this painting, I wanted to convey the joy of color and the energy inherent in the movement of simple shapes and colors.
I really like the technique of oil painting, with its help I can achieve a stained glass effect in my painting.
I would like the viewer, looking at the picture, to feel the joy of the early morning, when the sun just rises and its rays penetrate the colored glass.
My style is distinctive and unique, I call it stained glass (stained glass or patchwork quilt).
The rest of this series can be seen on my profile.
