Concept

Series "The Far Eastern Venuses"

The main idea of this series is that a human is the bearer of her or his culture. And in my works, the heroines literally carry the earth on their shoulders like clothes, with mountains delivering an image of their native land, culture and history.
I replace or substitute national clothes with a landscape, and it takes the form of a headdress, clothing or it is woven into the hair of heroines. Threads, beads and embroidery sew through and connect nature and human. By this I wish to show that a human and her land are interconnected and that a human herself embraces all knowledge about the culture of her people.

Series "The Woman"

Once upon a time life was born in the sea and it was a small island that looked like a baby. She grew up and over time began to resemble a woman with her outlines and silhouette. The woman-island grew up and throve and finally turned into a mainland and a continent.
Life appeared on it and the people began to build cities and countries. And everything was unusual on this land because life repeated the original image of a woman.The mountains, islands, lakes, rivers reminded people of what the beginning of their life looked like.

Series "The Patchwork Animals"

A trip to the Kamchatka peninsula impressed me with the great diversity of nature. I saw it as a mosaic-map, which I was eager to fill with different textures of this land - the colors of the earth, national music and ornaments. I took an ancient cave drawing of deer, composed a symbolic geographical map out of it and filled it with patchwork fragments. Sometimes the patches turn into stained glass.
