This painting is about the struggle with our own limitations in our head, with our stereotypes, fears, rejection. The man is depicted at the peak of tension, trying to push apart the glass walls, which are getting closer to each other every moment; at any moment a man will be caught between them and crushed if he does not make efforts to fight. We see his effort, his muscular tense body, and we believe that he will break free, to his true self. But then we notice his hands - they do not rest against the slabs, they got stuck there, like in an invisible swamp. Or are the walls completely illusory, and the struggle initially does not make sense?
