The work depicts a young girl resting her head on her arm. The figure appears to be in a state of rest or sleep. The brush work is expressive, with thick, dynamic strokes that add texture and depth to the composition. The color palette is relatively muted, with shades of gray, blue, and hints of red on the individual's cheeks, suggesting a flush of life amidst the cool tones. The background is somewhat abstract, allowing the focus to remain on the figure. There is a play of light and shadow that gives the painting a three-dimensional feel. The artist has signed the work in the lower right corner.

    Concept

Marco Ortolan is an Argentine Artist (Draftsman and Painter) whose work went through different languages throughout time starting as an Impressionist Painter (the School that started him in Painting), followed by Hyperealism to finish today with a REALISTIC language in general but with plastic additions that give it a very personal imprint, consolidating today in free compositions where the human figure wrapped in the sea depths and Urbanism are presented as the protagonists, which does not prevent it from entering other themes as The Artist (as Painter) must be Universal (thus confirming the thought of Leonardo Da Vinci in his treatise on Painting.)

Regarding his Technique, today it is presented loosely, with plasticity and an Impressionist tendency with mannerisms that emerge throughout the process in each composition, such as scraping with spatula and scratching that allow the tone of the support to participate. These are made of wood or canvas depending on the size of the work. The process begins with a loose drawing, assembled within a grid to consolidate the proportions. Then the first tones will appear and from there the plasticity dominates the scene in a back and forth until conforming the demands of the same Artist.

Drawing is fundamental in his work, it is the basis of his painting. The Pen as a technique gave him great satisfaction and was part of his initial stage as a Plastic Artist.
