Located in the historic, commercial and leisure center of Santander, specifically in Calle General Mola, the Hotel Central stands on a historic building in the city that housed the old Ignacia hotel. In 1991, the building was completely renovated to adapt the facilities and services to the needs of the clients. The last reform of the Hotel Central dates from the year 2001.
The Central Hotel (1985 - 2014) closed the doors of a building that has been the history of the city. Back in 1929, some source speaks of 1905, the Ignacia Hotel opens its doors, its owner being Antonia Falla Ruano. This is how a modern, central hotel with a European trend opens in Santander. It was a landmark hotel in the city, to such an extent that Antonio Machín or Carlos Gardel stayed here, that in February 1928 he finished composing his song "The day you love me" in one of his rooms.
