Turning to one of the stable and consistently popular genres created in the rather distant past of “flowers and birds” (“Huanyiao”) in Chinese landscape painting, Olga Beketova in the series of works “Vintage in Gold and Silver” creates her own poetically harmonious, gentle and melancholic mood, which takes us to the world of the Garden of Eden. While these pieces are anchored in figurations, they are no representational or observational but are explorations of feeling awoken by the artist's search for inner meaning.
