The painting is a form of dealing and fighting with the paint. A painting is a two dimensional object, but thick layers of paint, present in this piece, require almost sculptural aproach. The forms are brought up or scraped down, and hills and valeys of oil paint are being built. In this controled, but expressive method of painting, a lot of the proces cannot be predicted. The colors are mixed as the process developes, on the very canvas. The result is a carefully manipulated piles of rich paint which form a face, arm or an eye / something real. I like the way an abstracted, loose and fiercely applied pile of paint can form something concrete.
