The theme "The social in the everyday" was developed in the context of the urban landscape, represented in one of the most emblematic areas of downtown Santiago, such as Plaza Italia. The building of the company "Movistar" was taken as a daily element of the landscape of the inhabitants of Santiago, perverting its structure by replacing the windows with the design of the symbolism of a Mapuche textile. This textile represents the contingency of the territorial social problems of the Mapuche people, in conjunction with the urban and postmodern of the building. It should be noted that the company "Movistar" belongs to a holding company with mainly Spanish capital.
As an artist I make a reflective call in the face of a social and daily controversy that summons us in the now and that has been unfolding since colonial times. I do not represent a moral or social judgment, my intention is to open the dialogue in the face of a problem, so that the viewer can interact with the work and draw their own conclusions.
