Genesis 1:9-13.
In this passage it says "And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good."
In this painting I used my impasto technique and bright bold colors to show the first time dry land appeared on Earth and the water separating from it. If you look you'll see grasses, trees, hills, plants- just about everything God created on the third day. I used bright bold colors because everything was fresh and new at the time. Nothing had been touched by man and everything was beautiful and perfect. I wanted to show the complex yet simple beauty of God's nature.
