I have lived in Malaysia for the past thirty one years and have chosen many of the magnificent scenes to paint. I have been inspired by the trees flowers and colors here, which actually moved me to start painting.
Langkawi is a beautiful island of beaches ,mountains and flora of many kinds, a beautiful place to plein air paint.
In this art work I have laid on the oil in the Impasto method (generous heavy paint). This gives a three dimensional appearance, heavy paint in foreground, thinner as we move into the distance.
I feel the colors really tell the story of ripe rice field.
