So why "Equinity"?
"Equinity" encapsulates the horse as the "Equine" and the balance of the ballerina portrays the "Equality" between both the ballerina and the horse, where two become one.
The pole represents a fairground carousel, where in this case, both the ballerina and the horse are disengaged from any constraints, surrounding noise and are free to enjoy this moment together.
Equinity is part of a trio in a collection of ballerina fragments. The other two artworks are "Transition" and "Majestic". All three pieces have been built up of mixed sculpture media to form the background, then the protagonists layered in Rembrandt oil. Together, these mediums allow the protagonist and the background to merge as one within the artworks, and they make quite a statement in any space.
