    Description

For those who lived in the Soviet Union, this picture is like an open book. Like the most transparent metaphor, almost an idiom.

I don’t know where this tradition came from, but I remember it very well.

Suddenly, overnight, the TV broadcast stops and all the channels start broadcasting the ballet “Swan Lake” without commentary or interruptions. The show ends and immediately starts from the beginning. And it could go on like that all day long.

Then they would announce that another communist god had died of old age and now we had a new one. Much better and more majestic than the old one. It’s worth explaining that for us the death of our leader was a holiday.

You ask me what this has to do with Tchaikovsky and his ballet.

I have no idea why it was set up that way. But I do know that Swan Lake is still a mournful ballet in Russia. And it can be shown on TV only in connection with the death of the first person of state.

So we’re waiting. Let’s wait together!)))))
