From the series "The Golden Ones"
This work is a tribute to one of the great painters of humanity: Gustav Klimt. It is a self-portrait with reference to one of his works. Gustav has a great influence on my painting, for years I have been fixated on the color gold, gold, very present in his work and in mine.
The Golden Knight was a deeply rooted concept in medieval courts as the knight to beat. In my case it represents an armor against the hardships of life. The blue color of my face is part of that melancholy, of the feelings of the soul, of the pain that we have all suffered at some time. Rays come from his body, some very faint of light, but the most marked are gray and black, symbolizing the expulsion of suffering, of all those losses that we have throughout life.
