Schloss Maretsch is located in South Tyrol, Italy. It is a cute castle built in the middle of a vineyard. Although it is a cute castle, it is located in a mountainous area and the landscape has little color and a sense of harshness, so I lowered the height of the mountain and expanded the sky to depict pink flowers. The clouds in the wider sky were painted a little stronger. I painted the round tower in the foreground strongly to make it seem closer, and I painted the round tower in the back and the mountain in the background with a sense of perspective in mind. By placing a few grapevines in the foreground, I avoided the impression that the painting was too flat. I painted the borderline of the colors while being conscious of the way the colors blend into each other, which I believe is closer to the way the human eye sees things. The border line between the building and the vineyard is positioned where it gives a sense of stability. The outer frame of this work is made of birch wood, so it can be beautifully displayed as is without framing. It is painted on a strong MDF board that is resistant to warping and humidity.
