The works of Alechinsky inspired this work. Pallette knife was used to achieve a thick impasto. I also drew mathematical measurements to create a contrast with the undulating forms.

Concept

I admire the motifs of the ancient world like Byzantine, Elizabethan, African, Rennaisance and Philippine textile and boat motifs. I love the use of joss papers and faux silver and gold leaf. I also love harlequin patterns, dots, lines and sgraffito texture on thick impasto.
